Biography
Dominic Riemenschneider studied Art History, Christian Archaeology/Byzantine Art History, and Protestant Theology at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, where he graduated with a Magister Artium degree in 2015. Since 2017 he has been researching in the context of his individual doctorate, supervised by Akad. Dir. PD Dr. habil. Claudia Meier (JGU Mainz) on the architectural image in modern Fantastic media and the reception forms and paths associated with historical buildings. On his blog www.arthistoryfantastics.com he is publishing about the Art in Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror for a broad audience. A Visual Podcast on YouTube is transferring his research from text to video. Over the past two years he has presented his research in an international context through lectures, panel discussions and publications. He lives in Berlin since 2012 and works as freelance Art Historian in the field of the Fantastic.
